Lake County Transit is cutting back some routes because it doesn’t have enough drivers. Starting Monday, Lake Transit plans to suspend weekday service on the last eastbound run of Route 1 along the north shore of Clearlake, the last loop of Route 2 between Cobb and Middletown, the last loop of Route 4A between the Rivieras and Lakeport, and half of the afternoon runs of Route 8 in Lakeport. There are also some changes foreastbound Route 7 and the last two eastbound runs of Route 4. Laketransit.org has the newest schedules online.
Lake County is getting a new park and you’ll have a chance to suggest what it will look like
.The John T. Klaus park will be on Highway 20, east of Clearlake Oaks. There’s already a preliminary plan for the 586 acres, but it is very basic, so CountyPublic Services wants to determine what the public would like. Among the opportunities–the county envisions hiking and birdwatching. The land was donated and there are some requirements for how the land can be used. The public outreach meeting for the new John T. Klaus Park will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the East Lake Elementary School
