The Park Fire in Butte and surrounding counties is now 56% contained. It’ been raging since it started on July 24th and has burned over 429 thousand acres. Rite Aid pharmacies will stay open under an agreement with the state as officials look over the chain’s planned ownership change. The agreement spare s hundreds of stores across the country, including inn , the Clearlake store, as well as those in Fort Bragg, Ukiah and Willits in Mendocino County> AG Rob Bonta says he wants to make sure that pharmacies continue to prove necessary medicines, especially those on assistance programs like Medi-cal or Medicare.

Also seeking re-election for four years Michael Froio and Kenny Parlet, and appointed incumbent Kim Costa Challengers include retired teacher Carl Porter and Christina Price, a real estate broker and member of the Lake County Planning Commission.
