The Reservoir fire that’s been burning for the last couple of days in Lake County is now 75 percent contained. 68 acres Near the Indian Valley Reservoir Dam, N/E of Clearlake Oaks have burned. About 50 personnel are assigned. Cal Fire says no structures are threatened.

The Park Fire is now 40% contained. CalFire says evacuation orders and warnings are still in effect for some areas, while in others, people are being allowed to return to their homes. The fire has been burning for three weeks now and has destroyed over 429 thousand acres in 4 counties. Field damage inspections are ongoing

A new survey in Lake County aims to get public input on the county’s plans for the next 25 years. The new survey runs through September 2nd. The county says it will be an important part of its Lake County 2050 project that has been going on since earlier this year. Participants will select their local area and then answer questions about land use, growth, and housing. There also will be a webinar and open house from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 to outline the project and how residents can express their feelings. The survey team will also set up information booths at the Blackberry COBBler Festival on Aug. 24 and the Lake County Fair on Aug. 29.
