Cal Fire says the Park Fire in Butte and surrounding counties Count has now burned 441 acres and is at 31 percent contained. The forecast is not promising with high temperatures and low humidity.

Clearlake Oaks is one of 20 communities across the state to join a new program to clean up, reclaim, and beautify public spaces. The Clean California Community Designation Program is a part of the governor’s 12 billion dollars statewide initiative for cleaner places. To get onto the Clean Community Program, Clear Lake and the others had to show what they were doing to become litter-free and more attractive.

The Middletown Area Town Hall meets on Thursday to talk about current projects and future plans for the 6 Lake County communities it serves. On the agenda for Thursday’s session at Middletown Community Meeting Room is an update on road projects from Caltrans, and from Lake County. The Town Hall will also take care of business matters too, reviewing its annual report due to the Board of Supervisors next month. The meeting starts at 7 pm. It will be on Zoom–and the town hall will discuss if those VIRTUAL meetings should continue.

Dungeons and Dragons turns 50 this month and the Upper Lake Post Office is taking part in the celebration with the unveiling of a new commemorative stamp. The gathering is from noon to 3 at the Den game shop on Main Street in Upper Lake. You’ll be able to buy the new stamps and other memorabilia.
