It’s out with the old and in with the new as the building that housed Kmart in Lakeport is now reopening as new retailers. Tractor Supply Company will be opening it’s second store in Lake County in a portion of that building, located on Main street in Lakeport. The grand opening takes place tomorrow and runs through Sunday. Tractor Supply says they’ll have lots of bargains and giveaways. Their other store in the county is in Clearlake in the remodeled building that used to be Ray’s Food Place. Other stores will be soon to move into the old Kmart as well. A new Marshalls department store will be located at the opposite end of the building and be open later in the summer. A third space remains available in the remodeled building.
Lake County’s Board of Supervisors have selected the county’s new Public Works Director. It is Glen March and his appointment begins Monday, June 29th. He will serve as limited term Public Works director along with the present director, Scott De Leon during the month of June. March has served in both the private and public sectors for over thirty years, most of that in engineering-focused roles. He has been a licensed professional engineer in our state since 1993 and has most recently served in Hollister and East Palo Alto.
Bring your hunger and ten bucks this Saturday as the Kelseyille Lions Club hosts a fundraiser pancake breakfast. Proceeds will benefit the Lake County Sheriff’s Activity League and support all the free activities that sponsor. The breakfast begins at 8am and runs until 11am. Location is the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church on Third Street.
Saturday will be a great time to stock up on healthy foods for you and your family. The Lake County Farmers Finest manages the Certified Farmers Market. It will be held at Shannon Mercantile near Finley, off HWY 29, across from Rainbow AG. The Farmer’s Market will be held rain or shine and runs from 10am-1pm.
