A California lawmaker wants full transparency on hidden restaurant food delivery fees. When you order eats from online delivery platforms like DoorDash and GrubHub there are hidden fees charged to the restaurant – these fees can drive up the costs of deliveries to you, the consumer. The bill’s author, Senator Maria Durazo says the bill aims to require the delivery platform to inform customers what fees are being charged to both them and the restaurant. Durazo tells the Sacramento Bee that this transparency measure would allow customers to make informed decisions.
