Lake County Board of Supervisors will get an update on a sewer project linked to a new development. Work on the Konocti Gardens project off Old Highway 53 is expected to start this summer. According to the meeting agenda, supervisors will hear from the developers about their plans for a sewer line on Alvita Avenue that would alleviate some impacts of the 102-unit development. That discussion is part of the Board’s regular meeting which convenes at 9 AM on Tuesday. Following the open meeting, the board will go into a private session for a personnel issue. You can see the full agenda on the county website.

Inspectors in Ukiah are inspecting more than 5,000 water meters the hard way…manually. The city says crews are out looking at each connection where it enters buildings. They are complying with federal rules to make sure there are no lead pipes in the system. There probably aren’t–the city says it has never seen a lead pipe connection, but they say the rules are the rules. The job will be useful to the city because while they’re looking for a problem that likely isn’t, they map each location accurately to build an updated database of all connections. The workers will all be in city uniforms and carry ID’s. The process will take until mid-October.

The money would go to permit processing, inspection, and education about fireworks. Lakeport is the only place you can legally buy fireworks in Lake County after voters approved a measure allowing them in 2009. The fireworks discussion is part of the council’s regular meeting agenda tomorrow at 6 PM.
