Caltrans is looking for your opinion on three proposed options to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety on Talmage Road. Ukiah Daily Journal reports that officials are designing a project that they describe as complete pedestrian and bicycle facilities between the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas campus and Highway 101. They said the plan is to make it easier to cross Talmage Road at several intersections. Caltrans is asking for public feedback on the three options they’ve come up with for intersections between Sanford Ranch and Old River Roads. Option 1 would be bike lanes on both sides and a sidewalk on the south side of the road. With this option, parking would be allowed on the North side. Option 2 would be a shared use path on the north side of the road, and a sidewalk on the south. That shared path would be separated from traffic by a buffer or 3 to 5 feet. Parking would be allowed on the south side. And option 3 proposes bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road with no parking allowed on either side. Get more info and take the survey here.
