We are still recovering from the most recent rain and windstorm but we may not be done with bad weather yet. It’s been a wild few hours on Highway 20 East of Clearlake. It all started last night around 7:00 near Mule Skinner Road when a cattle truck rolled over. Some of the cattle reportedly died while others escaped. The road was blocked for hours. It was finally completely reopened around 5:30. Problems remained until late morning problems, with loose cattle still roaming around. CHP called a wrangler to round them up, and this evening the CHP incident report page says that the road is clear.
Applications open in April for the next chance in a lottery to award money to help first time California Homebuyers. The The Dream for All program lends up to 20% of a home’s price that gets paid back later when the owner sells or refinances. The state is setting aside $250 million dollars , which the California Finance Agency says could help almost 2,000 people. There are some requirements–its for new homebuyers only and your credit must be good. The winners will be notified in the spring.
