Lake County has declared a state of emergency given the rain and high wind of the last 48 hours. There are a lot of reports of downed wires and trees, closed roads, flooding, and still many power outages. CHP lists around a dozen places with road hazards in the Ukiah patrol area, including Highway 101 and Old River Road in Hopland and portions of Rt 175 in both Mendocino and Lake Counties. The water should begin to fall. The National Weather Service has dropped the Flood Warning for the Russian River near Hopland. Law enforcement has been busy all afternoon with reports of several trees down on roads, including a possible landslide on the coast in the Caspar Area. PG & E is still dealing with more than 20,000 outages in Mendocino County, with around 4,000 out in Lake County. The Mendocino Sheriff’s office says you’ll need to be careful this evening on the roads with many road hazards, some yet to be reported. You should always avoid downed power lines and assume they are live. Also, avoid any areas of standing water because there could be danger below the surface even if you can’t see any. This huge storm is affecting all of the state and is moving toward the south. There could be record amounts of rain from North of LA to San Diego, with millions of people in that region now under some kind of weather alert .
