A brief systemwide strike against the California State University university system schools is over. The system and the California Faculty Association reached an agreement early this morning, giving teachers a 5 percent raise retroactive to July 1, 2023, with another 5 percent in July.
Covid is making its way around again, but California is REDUCING the time you’ll have to self-isolate if you test positive and don’t have a fever. The California Department of Public Health suggests just one day out of circulation because the impact of COVID-19 is less than it was at its peak. The new CDPH guidance advises if you have COVID-19 symptoms you should stay home until you are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication. The CDPH reported that there were 563 new COVID-19 hospital admissions in California as of Jan. 5
