Grab your bait and poles this weekend and join the crowd at Clear Lake. Even though the next major tournament on the lake won’t be held until October, the perfect weather will bring out the fishermen. Although the fishing rating is not great right now, anglers are just happy to get out and cast a few lines. Clear Lake has a lot of baitfish, so many that some fishermen may notice the fish don’t strike the lures. There are some species of fish that are credited with making Clear Lake one of the top bass fisheries in the country. The abundant bait fish is a reason the bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish populations are so high. Remember that a bad day fishing is still better than a good day doing just about anything else.
